Paris:  In France, a woman who lost her nose due to facial cancer has been transplanted with a nose grown on her own body, which is also an unusual experiment of its kind.

It should be noted that this is a 3D printed nose whose mold is printed by a 3D printer. It is glued on the lower arm (forearm) of the patient. The fine blood vessels and tissues are then implanted in the laboratory. In the next step it is glued to the lower arm where there is abundant blood flow.

The experts continuously grew the nose by attaching it to the arm for two months and when it was formed to a certain extent, it was transferred to the face. For this, the nose was carefully separated from the arm and glued to the woman's damaged nose in a six-hour operation, which was a complicated process. The most difficult task was connecting the facial veins to the nose which were already formed inside the nose.

This operation was done on November 2022 after which it has now been announced. After the nose operation, the woman was kept in the hospital for ten days and was given antibiotics for three weeks. Now the Toulouse University Cancer Institute has announced that the woman is perfectly healthy and her nose is working perfectly.

The woman herself said that when she woke up the next morning and saw herself, she felt very happy. She had not been able to go out for ten years due to her affected face and after the nose transplant, she now went out with her husband and ate in a restaurant.

It should be noted that the supervisors of this process are Dr. Dupert Burris and Benjamin Wirral who have researched this process for many years. He has developed a milky nose with a 3D printing company called Serham. This nose mold is made from a mineral called hydroxyapatite. However, skin and cartilage were taken from the patient.
